On Saturday afternoons traffic tends to get really busy so you’ll want to start ordering your taxi much ahead of time.
If by any chance you cannot get a taxi, or traffic looks too congested, here is an alternative:
- Get to the Metro M2 line at Sishane (for those in Galata/Karakoy area) or Taksim (for those in Taksim/Cihangir area) in the direction of Haciosman, to the Levent stop (13 mins).
- Change to M6 line (1 min walk) and ride all the way to the end station Bogazici Universitesi (6 mins).
- Take the F4 down to Asiyan (2.5 mins). It is then a 10 minute walk to the boat in Bebek from there.
- Walk 10 minutes in the direction of Bebek. The Bosphorus needs to be on your left, and you’ll see many boats docked.
Istanbulkart: Try to get an Istanbulkart. One Istanbulkart can be used for up to 5 persons so if you’re going to be traveling together, not everyone needs to have their own card. Just make sure you have enough credit on it; the most you’ll pay per station entry per person is 7.67TL.
The ticket machines can be a little annoying to navigate because some buttons aren’t very responsive. Also not every machine dispenses Istanbulkarts. There is normally at least two machines and one of them should have it. Please prepare the exact amount of TL too. Apparently the yellow machines don’t give you back change.
